Welcome Message

Welcome! Our church's website exists to meet the needs of her members, and to help those members in times of hardship.  We worship together as a community of Christian Coptic Orthodox believers. We support one another’s values and common beliefs through love and respect. We nurture the faith of our members in a variety of ways including divine liturgies, sunday school programs, spiritual meetings, and social activities.

Prayers' Request for Egypt
Beginnings can make or break your life. I’d prefer they make yours, so I’ve come up with five ways to start your day / year on a good note:
1 Exercise
Starting your day with a smile can set your entire day. When you get your heart beating and you’re feeling energized so early in the morning by saying “Good morning Lord”, you can start to feel more ready to face the day ahead.
2 Eat Breakfast
Your mom probably drummed this into your head as a child, and it’s still true. When you eat breakfast in the morning you boost your energy and metabolism, and you give your body the fuel it needs to run the rest of the day. Your soul would need to eat as well; reading the bible (God’s love letters to you) may boost your soul and give your spirit the strength it needs to face any obstacles and challenges.

Martyrdom of St. Demiana
(Jan 22nd - Tubah 13th)
عيد استشهاد القديسة دميانة

On this day, St. Demiana was martyred. This chaste and fighter virgin, was the daughter of Mark, Governor of El-Borollus, El-Zaafran, and Wadi Al-Saysaban in the Northern delta of the valley of the Nile. She was the only daughter to her parents. When she was one year old, her father took her to the church of the monastery of Al-Maymah.

Kids' Trip to Disney on Ice - December 28, 2011:
Our beloved Church organized a trip to Disney on Ice in downtown Toronto on Wednesday Dec 28th, 2011.  More than 50 kids of our Church and some families joined this trip.

They enjoyed more than 65 of Disney's unforgettable characters from 18 beloved stories that came to life in Disney on Ice when celebrating 100 Years of Magic!

Our beloved kids were captivated by Mickey Mouse, the irresistible Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck, Jiminy Cricket, Pinocchio and many Disney Princesses.  The exciting moments from The Lion King, Mulan, and Disney/Pixar’s Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, and Toy Story films created a skating spectacular filled with magical Disney moments.

Our beloved kids shared together a snack time with lots of fun.  Thank you Lord for the great time and God bless our Church's ministries.
Our Youth and families had a blessed opportunity to meet with Fr. Bishoy El-Antouny on FRI Dec 30th, 2011.  Abouna Bishoy is one of the Christian Youth Channel's leaders (CYC) who promotes this service worldwide and visited the GTA to do so.  Abouna Bishoy clarified the CYC Channel's main goal to spread the love of Jesus Christ, His teachings, and the culture and history of the Coptic Church among Christian and non-Christian youth and children globally.  You may visit the CYC Channel by clicking HERE

In addition, Abouna Bishoy delivered a clear message to the Youth and everybody about the importance of Repentance and Confession, especially with the new year start.  It's kind of a shower to our spirit to start fresh and continue fresh.  He elaborated with some true and recent stories about Repentance.  Abouna Bishoy identified some tips and techniques before and during the Confession session.

Thanks ya Abana for your time and looking forward to seeing you again and again.

New Year Eve Dec 31st, 2011 - Jan 01st, 2012:
Happy and Blessed New Year 2012.  Our beloved Congregation came together to praise the Lord and thank Him for everything in the past year 2011.

We started by the Kiahk Praises, followed by the Midnight Prayers and the Kids' Choirs.  In addition the Seniors' Choir performed a couple of spiritual songs followed by Fr. Daniel' sermon that delivered a new message for the new year:  "Oneness with God, with others and with self" and the obstacles:  Ego, being self-centric, judging others, personal differences (Respect each other, accept each other, we're part of the puzzle, and we're all on the same boat), and the moment we're affected by Love, the moment Devotion has risen within us.  That is the path we must follow.

In addition, Abouna elaborated the beauty of Unity with respect to the Unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  The message here is to give hand to others, not to be self-centric.  The Lord Jesus loved to gather people around Him and fulfill their needs. To conclude, "Love one another" through oneness in Christ.

Departure of St.John the Evangelist and Theologian (Our Church Saint's Patron):
On January 13th (Tubah the 04th), in the year 100 A.D., St. John, the virgin, the evangelist, and apostle who was the son of Zebedee, departed. St. John Chrysostom (of the Golden Mouth) said that St. John the Evangelist was originally a disciple of St. John the Baptist. He was the brother of St. James the Elder, who was killed by Herod by the sword. The Lord called him with his brother "Boanerges" (Mark 3:17), that is "sons of thunder," for their strong zeal and great faith. He was also the disciple whom Jesus loved. The lot fell on him to go to Asia. The people of this area were stiff-necked, so he prayed to Christ to be with him. He went to Ephesus, accompanied by his disciple Prochorus. They embarked on a ship, but the ship was wrecked on the way and every one of the passengers clung to a plank of the ship's wood. The waves washed out
We prayed at the end the New Year Divine Liturgy and got Aghapy together right after.  May the new Year brings Joy, Peace and Blessings to you and your family (Photos and Video Clips to be posted shortly).

It was fun for all of us.  He was an awesome Santa...

High School' Mission Day - December 23, 2011:
Feeling the others' needs and give them a hand is really a great mission as the Bible taught us.  Our Youth group opened up their arms to the community and offered their help.

On FRI Dec 23rd, 2011, our High School Youth Group got together and headed to the Toy Market for a valuable mission day.  They drew a smile on the people' faces when they offered gifts during the Christmas holidays.

Dear Lord, please bless this ministry and guide us on Your way to reach out those who are in need for help to fulfill your Good Will.

Thanks to everyone who organized and invested his/her time and effort to accomplish this mission.

Seniors' Mission Day - December 21, 2011:
Right after the Divine Liturgy and their weekly meeting, the Church' Seniors Group opened their hearts and hands, and got together to prepare meals' boxes for the homeless' people in downtown Toronto.

They bought foods, cookies and boxes, made sandwiches and fill in the meal boxes in order to get ready for this mission.  They gave us all a good example to feed our brothers and sisters who are looking for somebody to help them out and fulfill their needs.

God bless our Seniors' Group and reward them many folds.  We love you all.

Prochorus to an island, but St. John remained among the waves of the sea for several days, until the waves carried him, by the will of God, to the same island where his disciple Prochorus was. When they met together, they offered thanks to God for taking care of them.

St. John the Beloved's Feast (Jan 13th - Tubah 04th)
Commemoration of the Miracle at Cana of Galilee
(Jan 22nd - Tubah 13th)

It was the first miracle that our Lord Jesus performed after His baptism. He was invited to the wedding with His virgin mother, St. Mary, and also some of His disciples. When they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, "They have no wine." Jesus said to her, "Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come." His mother said to the servants, "Whatever He says to you, do it." There were set there six water pots of stone. Jesus said to them. "Fill the water pots with water." And they filled them up to the brim. He said to them, "Draw some out now and take it to the master of the feast." When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, he said to the bridegroom, "Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine and when the guests have well drunk, then that which is inferior; but you have kept the good wine until now." This was the beginning of the signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee and manifested His glory and His disciples believed in Him. (John 2:1-11)
